Clean View: The Future of Holborn’s Streets

Clean View Smart Bins

I recently sat down with a representative from the council to discuss a growing concern: as Holborn’s tech scene explodes, our physical streets are being left behind in the clutter. My proposal was simple we don't need more people watching the streets; we need the streets to watch themselves.

The council was initially skeptical, but after explaining the Clean View initiative, the mood changed. "This is exactly the kind of integration Holborn needs," they noted. The heart of this project is Computer Vision (CV). Instead of a human officer constantly watching, we use smart cameras that can "see" and "understand" the street.

The cameras aren't hidden; they're built into things you already see on the street, like new smart lampposts or the next generation of recycling bins. The CV system uses advanced software, trained on millions of images, to recognize specific objects and actions:

The council and I agreed: by turning Holborn into a living, sensing environment, we can keep our neighborhood at the "Sharp Edge" of global tech hubs while keeping it cleaner than ever before.
